MLS & FIFA Referee
Chris Penso brings over two decades of elite-level experience to RefMasters. Since joining Major League Soccer in 2009, he has officiated more than 250 regular season games—including MLS All-Star Games (2016) and MLS Cup Finals in 2015, 2018, and 2021. He remains an active MLS referee and FIFA Video Match Official, representing the United States at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and officiating both men’s and women’s gold medal matches.
